Discovering your true self

Romans 8:29:

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

As a Christian, God is transforming you into the image of Jesus. This ‘sibling of Jesus’, this ‘child of God’ person is your true self. It is the person God created. And so, true joy, love and acceptance is only found as you discover and become that person. You must increasingly see yourself as that person.

Discovering the person God created is a journey of revelation. It is a journey full of astonishment. The person God created is holy. That person is completely separate from the sin of this world. That person is a powerful, overcoming and unique expression of God. This is why Satan works so hard to keep you from a powerful truth: you are that person right now. You are right now seated with Christ in heavenly places. (Ephesians 1:20) And, as you grow in your revelation of your true self, you will grow increasingly aware that you are right now both here on earth and also ‘seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens’. (Hebrews 8:1)
